Ralph is the son of James Benjamin Chambers and Hannah Jane Spiegelmyer. He and Hazel were married on July 6, 1916 in Marceline, Missouri in the home of the bride. They settled in Potlatch Idaho, where Ralph was superintendent of schools for nine years. Ralph served in the US Army during WW I, from June 1918 to Nov. 1918. At the end of the war, he was a Lieutenant.
Ralph obtained his Master's degree at Stanford University, then they moved to Covina, Ca., where he was principal of the Covina Elementary School until his retirement.
