OLD SOLDIER IS CALLED BEYOND.
E. F. HUGGINS DIES AT BARD HOSPITAL IN THIS CITY.
After an illness of several days with pneumonia, complicated by conditions arising from his age, E. F. Huggins, age 77, passed away at Bard Hospital last night about 9 o'clock. Mr. Huggins was an old soldier and served his time in the service of Uncle Sam during the Apache trouble in Arizona. Mr. Huggins was a genial old man and those who knew him well admired him for many pleasing gifts of character. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and came across the plains on two occasions. He lived in Ventura off and on for the past 15 years. He is survived by a granddaughter and by a brother and nephew in Los Angeles. Fred Stiles had been looking after the old soldier and made all the arrangements for his care during his last illness. The body is at the Reardon parlors. Funeral arrangements will be made today. Mr. Huggins will be buried beside his wife and son in the cemetery here. The wife died in 1905 in this city.
