Brian James Newman passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at his home in Waynesboro. He was born on August 30, 1969, in Waynesboro, to James and Carolyn Newman of Waynesboro. Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles B. Newman and Bessie Newman; and his maternal grandparents, John and Rachael Leake. Besides his parents, he is survived by his son, Tyler Newman; his brother, Kevin Newman and his wife, Barbara, of Virginia Beach; his two nephews, Jacob and Ryan Newman; and a number of cousins, aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor Scott Conrad. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery for the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, and at other times at the home of his parents.
