Services for Dorothy "Dot" Herring of Monticello are 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Carmel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Herring, 77, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, of heart failure at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on July 23, 1924, to the late Clifton and Minnie Holmes Wilson.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Kenneth Herring; brother, Joe Clyde Wilson; sister, Louise Wilson Neal; and two grandchildren.
Survivors are her husband, Robert S. "Bob" Herring of Monticello; sons, Joe Herring of Baton Rouge, La., and Jeff Herring of Silver Creek; daughters, Sandra Herring Langston of Silver Creek, Robin Herring Shumaker of Monticello and Michelle Corkern of Brookhaven; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Shumaker, Josh Langston, Trent Corkern, Shannon Langston, Lee Earls Jr., Cody Earls, Jason Shumaker and Ricky Shumaker.
Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
