WINSTON-SALEM - Glenn Edward "Eddie" Anderson, 71, of Lu-Wan Lane, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 of Liver Disease at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Eddie was born June 13, 1939 in Forsyth County a son of the late Glenn Edgar Anderson and Mary Ellen Foster Anderson. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and a member of New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Eddie loved to drive his tractor, sing Elvis and Johnny Cash songs, work on machinery, loved to watch Westerns, and loved especially to watch his grandchildren play. Eddie loved sports, NASCAR, the Tarheels and in his younger years loved to play softball. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Wanda Long Anderson of the home; one daughter, Debbie Vogler of Winston-Salem; one son, Terry Anderson of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Autumn, Travis, Ty and Rance; three sisters, Doris Bean and husband Herman of Hillsville, VA, Bonnie Fishel and husband Gray of Clemmons and Peggy Hankins and husband David of Pleasant Garden; four brothers, Tommy Anderson and wife Rhetta and Wayne Anderson and wife Barbara both of Winston-Salem, Ronnie Anderson and wife Brenda of Laurinburg and Lonnie Anderson and wife Barbara of High Point. Funeral services for Eddie will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sharon T. Lee and Rev. David C. Nolan officiating. Eddie will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, 10301 N. NC Hwy. 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, until placed in the church thirty minutes before the service. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to New Mt. Vernon Untied Methodist Church 6408 Friendship-Ledford Rd. Winston Salem, NC 27107.
