Goat Woman Buried Beside Husband

Mrs Blanche Hollaway, widow of Charleston's colorful Goat Man, Henry E. Hollaway, was buried yesterday beside her husband in the Lutheran Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Graveside services were conducted at 11 am by the Rev Robert L. Turner, Sullivan's Island minister who found the body of the 77-year-old recluse Thursday when he went to take her some provisions.

Since her husbands death a year ago, Mrs Hollaway had lived alone in their Big Goat Island retreat, visited only by Sullivan's Island Police Chief Joseph H. James, the Coast Guard and her minister.

She apparently died Wednesday night from exposure suffered in below-freezing temperatures.

There were no survivors.
