Maurice was the second of twelve children born to Nicholas Alois and Annie Hattie (Kilhoffer) Adams. He was born in Charleston, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann (Kerkhoff), and children: Janice Elaine (Adams) Lee, Dennis Maurice Adams, and Mark Alan Adams. A daughter, Mary, preceded him in death.

Stayton – Maurice, 92, died Monday in Salem. He was born in Charleston, AR., growing up in Oklahoma and moving to Stayton in 1953. Maurice worked in the Kaiser Shipyards during WWII as a fitter and fabricator. He owned and operated a service station and garage on Route 66 for 7 years and later worked as a supervisor for Mike Adams Construction for 32 years.
Maurice was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed electronics, radio and TV repair, gardening, doing the crossword puzzle daily and so interested in photography that he had his own darkroom. Maurice married Julia Kerkhoff on September 16, 1941 in Canute, OK.
He is survived by his wife: Julia of Stayton; children: Janice (Cecil) Lee of Salem, Dennis Adams of Lyons and Mark Adams of Keizer; brothers: Leo Adams of Elk City, OK., Clarence Adams and Mike Adams both of Stayton; sister: Teresa Word of Elk City, OK.;6 – grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Maurice was preceded in death by daughter: Mary; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Stayton.
