Moscow -- Irene Vesta Pointon, a Minnesota native who had lived in north central Idaho the past 16 years, died Wednesday night at 5:45 at Latah Convalescent Center at Moscow, where she had resided since September. She was 87.

She was born Nov. 23, 1893, at Marshall, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Olive Wunderlich. She married Joseph C. Pointon Dec. 24, 1913, at Brainard, Minn. In 1952 they moved to Modesto, Calif., where they remained for 12 years before moving to Harvard, in Latah County.

In 1973 they moved to LaCrosse, Wash., and in 1976 they moved to Moscow. Pointon is a retired carpenter.

Mrs. Pointon was a member of the Faithful Gospel Church of Onaway, near Potlatch.

In addition to her husband at Princeton, she is survived by a son, Ellsworth L. Pointon of Potlatch; a daughter, Charlotte White of Princeton; two brothers, Earl Wunderlich of Burtrum, Minn., and Oliver W. Wunderlich of Brainard, 10 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Faithful Gospel Church with the pastor, the Rev. Howard Leonard, officiating. A committal service will be held at Freeze Cemetery, near Potlatch. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
