Frances B. Sveska, 86, of Kalkaska, died June 29 2001 at her home. Mrs. Sveska had been a resident of Kalkaska County since 1967. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she owned and operated Francie's Ceramic Shop in Kalkaska. She was a member of the Kalkaska Baptist Church, and enjoyed yard sales, gardening and cooking.

She was born in White Cloud on October 6, 1914, the daughter of Raymond and Edith Dake Mullennix.

Surviving are her son Michael and son Erwin Kuras of Kalkaska; daughters Jacqueline Staton of Kalkaska, and Dorith Prince of Rensselaer, Ind.; sister Irene Stolt of Muskegon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brothers Wesley and Harold and sister Laura preceded her in death.

A memorial gathering of family and friends was July 3 at the home of Reg and Janet Mullennix in Kalkaska.
