Mabel M. Boysen of Austin dies at 97

AUSTIN -- Mabel Margrethea Boysen, 97, a resident of St. Mark's Lutheran Home and a retired Geo. A. Hormel &; Co. employee, died Monday (Feb. 24, 1992) at the nursing home.

Born Mabel Margrethea Buck on June 5, 1894, in Hayfield, she married Herman Otto Boysen on May 12, 1915, in Hayfield. Her husband died Dec. 10, 1968. She worked at Hormel for 30 years. Mrs. Boysen had resided at the nursing home since Nov. 17, 1988. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Hermia (Mrs. Kenneth) Bowe and Gladys (Mrs. Peter) Allas, both of Austin; a son, Haven of Austin; 13 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five greatgreat-grandchildren; one greatgreat-great- grandchild. A son and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. James Mikkelson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service at the church.
