Mrs. Amanda Jane Bridgewater, 82, a life-long resident of the Blue Mound community, died at 5:18 p.m. yesterday in Decatur and Macon County hospital. She had been an invalid for 8 years.

A daughter of Andrew and Emily Augur, Amanda was born May 6, 1869 near Mount Auburn. She was married in 1885 to Charles Robert Parish, who died in 1907. She married John D. Hill of Mount Auburn township October 21, 1909. They divorced in 1928. On Dec. 2, 1940 she married Albert Bridgewater. He survives her.

Amanda was a member of the Blue Mound Christian church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Wilbur, East St. Louis; and Orin, Blue Mound; two daughters, Mrs. Julia Kreiger, Palo Alto, Calif.; and Mrs. Doris Scott, Hoquiam, Wash.; two step-sons, Milton, Indianapolis, Ind.; August, Butler, Ind.; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Helen Stephens, Clarksburg; and Mrs. Will Boland and Mrs. Wayne Rarick, Moweaqua. She was preceded in death by her parents and an 18 year old daughter, Lena May Parish, who died in 1905.
