Mr. William Pearl Cox, age 83, died Monday, November 10, 2008, at his home following an illness. Mr. Cox was born on April 4, 1925 in Horry County to Mr. John Burley Cox, Sr., and Mrs. Martha Lou Eppie Spivey Cox. Mr. Cox was a WWII Army veteran who served his Country with courage and honor in the European Theater. He was a retired building contractor and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his two daughters: Kay Coats and husband, Ray, and Frances Holmes and husband, Tommy all of Loris, SC; his two sisters: Edna McKenzie of North Charleston, SC and Ruby Livingston of Longs, SC; three grandchildren: William Coats and wife, Tammy of Loris, Kim Nance and husband, Chris of Rocky Point, NC, and Andy Coats of North Charleston, SC; four great-grandchildren: Chase Coats, Lauren Nance, Josh Nance, and Wesley Fowler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Hardwick Memorial Chapel with burial following at Princeville Cemetery. Pastor Andy Bass will officiate services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home.
