Betty L. Walter, age 77, of rural Carpenter, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at the SunQuest Health Care Center in Huron. Her funeral service was at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 22nd at the Bethel Church, rural Yale, with Rev. Bill Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Church Cemetery.

Betty Losing was born to Henry and Pauline (Becker) Losing May 14, 1933, near Alpena. She married Harold Walter of Carpenter, June 26, 1953, in Huron. They farmed in the Carpenter area until 1994 when Harold retired, and they had remained living on the farm.

Betty loved gardening and cooking. After Harold retired, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to various flea markets in surrounding communities and also selling sweet corn in a parking lot in Huron.

Betty became a resident of the SunQuest Healthcare Center in March.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, three stepbrothers, and one stepsister.
