After the birth of their four children, the latest born in Berlin Germany, they immigrated to Mexico and spent almost two years in Mexico City, before crossing the border into the U.S. - Erich traveled first on 22 Oct 1922 and the rest of the family followed in the Spring of 1923, when they settled in San Antonio, Texas.
The family eventually moved to Los Angeles, California. Martha lived there until her death in 1952.
