Larry R. Dillinger, 65, rural Parsons, died at his home at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012. He had been in failing health.

He was born August 14, 1947, in Parsons, to Lloyd E. and Sarah L. (Bond) Dillinger. He grew up in the rural St. Paul area and graduated from Erie High School in 1965

He and Merle Prindle were married December 9, 1981 at Miami, Oklahoma. He was previously married to Sharon K. Breeze and Mary Coomes.

Larry was employed by Neosho County for 10 years, retiring in 2004. Earlier he had worked for Hy-Grade Construction for over 20 years.

Survivors wife – Merle Dillinger, of the home; one son – Mike Dillinger and his wife Shelly, of Parsons; one daughter – Tammy Alexander and her husband Mike, of Parsons; one step-son – Shannon Presley and his wife Debbie, of Pittsburg; two step-daughters – Shaune Presley and her companion Kenny Mason, of Pittsburg; Tori Presley, of Pittsburg; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother – Don Dillinger, of St. Paul; one sister – Mary Hines and her husband Rick, of Erie; and his father-in-law – Jud Prindle, of Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robbie Dillinger.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the South Mound Community Building. Burial will follow in the South Mound Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday. Memorials are suggested to either Hospice Care of Kansas or to the family.
