Nancy Lee (Leap) Adams, 86, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday April 2, 2018 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mrs. Adams was born on July 6, 1931 in and was a daughter of the late Albert Howard and Julia Christine (Yancey) Leap. Nancy was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and a former member of the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren where she served in many capacities. She was a loving mother and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved flowers and all of God's creation.
On March 23, 1952 she married Nelson William Adams who preceded her in death on February 11, 2011.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her children, Randall Adams and wife Gail Unterberger of Gaithersburg, MD, Don Adams and wife Frances of Harrisonburg, Glen Adams and wife Melissa of Timberville, Bob Adams and wife Jackie of Harrisonburg, Linda Buchanan and husband Barry of Ferrum, VA, Cindy Pennington and husband Tim of Port Charlotte, FL; a brother, Thomas Leap of Harrisonburg; a brother-in-law Gene Adams of Stanley; twelve grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by siblings, Arthur Randolph Leap and his wife Thelma, Albert Howard Leap, Jr. and wife Anna, Mary Katherine Leap, Frances Elizabeth Leap Frazier, William Whitfield Leap and wife Jane, and a sister in law, Edna Leap.
A graveside service will be held on Friday April 6, 2018 at 11 am at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Dan King officiating.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home, however friends may call on Wednesday from 9 until 5 PM and Thursday from 9 until 5 PM. The casket will remain closed.
