Deceased Name: CLAYTON LEWIS COOK
Clayton 'C.L.' Lewis Cook passed away Monday evening, July 19, 1999, at his residence. Clayton was born in Bozeman on June 13, 1963. He enjoyed the company of his friends, being around people and having a good time, but most of all he enjoyed his family. He tried to live life with zest and optimism to its fullest. He truly appreciated the 11 years he spent caring for his mother, Dorothy B. Cook.
Clayton loved the outdoors and was so proud to be a Montanan. He enjoyed cutting cord wood, hiking, backpacking, fishing and especially hunting. But most of all he liked to help others in any way possible. His dog, Perkette, gave him 15 joyous years of companionship. Oh, how he loved that dog! It was as though, with the both of their handicaps, they seemed to have an understanding of one another.
Clayton also excelled in the Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of 'Eagle Scott.' Clayton had a very close friend, who he could count on - Anne Fresby. She made many of his days comfortable and gave him the support he needed during the difficult times in his life. Anne was always there for support and to listen when Clayton needed a shoulder to lean on.
He is survived by his sister, Tammy Sue Bundrant, of Anaconda; step-brothers: Chester Cook of Ninilchik, Alaska, Larry Cook, of Bismark, N.D., and Jerry Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at Grand Avenue Christian Church. There will be a gathering of family and friends at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. If friends should desire, memorial contributions may be made to Grand Avenue Christian Church, 110 S. Grand Ave., Bozeman, MT 59715.
