John Ray Lurding, 49, died Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was a native of New Albany, IN, a mechanic for the old K-Mart Penske, an Army veteran and a member of the Wildwood Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Sheryl Shelton of Clarksville; a son, John Michael of Jeffersonville, IN; a daughter, Brandy Dawn Lurding of Huntingburg, IN; his mother, Norma Edwards Langdon of Clarksville; his stepmother, Nina Lurding of Jeffersonville; a stepdaughter, Melissa Daffron of Clarksville; a stepson, Anthony Ray Muncy of Hugo, MN; a grandson, Damien Lurding of Huntingburg; two sisters, Carol Noble of Jeffersonville and Nancy Henderson of Clarksville; and one stepbrother, Terry Lewis of Jeffersonville. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home, with burial in Kraft Grace-land Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday . Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Clark County Humane Society.
