Tombstone has spelling Birkmann, death certificate has it Birkman. You can only pull it up if you spell it Berkman since the person that input it in the system couldn't read the writing. They did spell their last name two different ways. Charles Birkman was married to Mary Birkman, his dad was Herman Birkman and mother Miss L Osterheid (or Osterheld). On 1910 fed census, has Charles and his wife Mary, they had been married for 12 years, five children, 2 living. Daughter named Helen (11 yrs old), son Charles (1 1/2 yrs old). Possible marriage license, wife Mary Millar (on license), date Oct 27, 1897, filed Oct 30, 1897.

Found his marriage license, married Oct 27, 1897 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Mary J Millar. She was from Bollinger County. His daughter's name is Helen Louise Birkman. Trying to find out if wife's maiden name was Mueller, her death cert has Milar but then her maiden name on there is mispelled.

Thanks to Brenda Joyce who found his wife's obit so I could verify that Mary is buried at Mount Lebanon Cemetery and the obit has their two living children listed.
His daughter, Helen Louise Birkmann (she had married a Walter Seehausen in 1921 then got divorced. She was married to a Gregory at the time of her death, March 19, 1993. This info came from Familysearch.org about Gregory last name.
