Rev.Joseph Buck Stratton Journal - date of 15 Jun 1864 - Conducted in the morning the funeral of Eli Montgomery, a little boy of 14 years of age who had been brutally murdered on the 2nd of June some miles back in Louisiana by a gang of negro soldiers. He was the youngest child of Mr. Eli Montgomery of this place and a youth of great promise.
