Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, May 24, 2000. Born in Lexington Co., he was a son of the late Horace Greely and Ida Marie Smith Taylor. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was the retired owner of Taylor's Barber Shop of Columbia. Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran and a charter member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church of Cayce. He was first married to the late Maudine Crout Taylor.
Surviving are his wife, Sara Shealy; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Willette Taylor of Gilbert; daughter, Pat Bean of Tampa, Fla.; stepson and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sonya Shealy of Batesburg-Leesville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dr. Rev. John Hill of Summerville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Marian Taylor of Batesburg-Leesville, Leroy and Martha Taylor of Lexington; sister, Miriam Sweat of West Columbia; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren.
