Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Pritchard were held Thursday, March 8, 1956, at the Schroeder Funeral home at 2 p. m., with Rev. Russell Otto officiating. Mrs. Ralph Patterson and Raymond Veale sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "God Will Take Care of You" accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Veale.
Pallbearers were William Pritchard, John Pritchard, Irvin Ross, Frank Steininger, Sam Mackey and E. S. Bergendahl. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Sam Mackey and Mrs. Glenn Seavert. Burial was at the Glenwood cemetery at Ogden.
Carrie Lena Reeves, daughter of Arnaldo and Harriet Reeves, was born November 9, 1877 near Tarkio Mo., and died March 5, 1956, at Boone.
When she was six years of age, she moved with her parents to Union Star, Mo., where she lived until the time of her marriage to John William Carpenter, March 13, 1895. Two sons were born to this union.
In 1910 the family moved to Mt. Ida, Kansas, where husband died in 1929.
She then made her home with her son until May 31, 1934, when she was united in marriage to James John Pritchard at Olatha, Kansas. They lived in Ogden a short while before coming to Boone. At the time of her death she was a member of the Christian church, the Rebekahs and the Royal Neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Winona Rhodes of Lawrence, Kansas, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Eldon Reeves of Smith Center, Kansas, Melvin Reeves of San Mateo, Calif., and Lawrence Reeves of Sterling, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Dessie Cassity of Stratton, Colo.; and other relatives and friends.
