OBITUARY OF MRS. LAURA WILLIAMS
—Laura Sophronia Williams, daughter of Robert and Margaret Ralston was born in Tama County Iowa January 15, 1860, and passed away into her eternal reward on December 14, 1942.
—In 1861 her parents returned to Washington County, Pennsylvania, making the trip in a covered wagon, and requiring six weeks for the journey.
—Mrs. Williams completed the public school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the State Normal at California, Penn.
—She remained in the home of her parents in Pittsburgh until her marriage in 1897 to Benjamin Williams of Pittsburgh.
—In 1914 she and her mother came to Macon where she made her home. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband and her infant son, Howard Dale.
She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, A. D. Ralston, of Macon, her sister-in-law, Mrs. A. D. Raltston; three nieces, Mrs. J. V. Marsh of Columbia, Mo., Miss Roselee of Washington, D.C., and Miss Lola Ralston of Macon; two nephews, R. C. Ralston of Macon and Arthur P. Supplee of Tulsa, Okla.; one grand niece and one grand nephew.
—Mrs. William was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, having united with it in childhood. She was for many years a teacher of the woman’s Bible Class in her church. She was long an active members in the local chapter of the D. A. R. and the Anti-Rust Club.
—Funeral services were held at the Albert Skinner Home for Funerals, Wednesday, dec. 16, 1942. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
