Taft Pharris, 76 of Beaumont, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 am at St. Pius Catholic Church, with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A wake will be held at 7:30pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A native of Old Forester, Texas, he had lived in Beaumont for 60 years. A retired Operating Engineer from DuPont.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Pharris and a son John Pharris, both of Beaumont, Texas. Four daughters; Martha Pharris Farnie of Beaumont, Texas, Judith Pharris Johnson of Morgan Town, N.C., Sylvia Pharris Jackson of Hyattsville, MD and Catherine Pharris Godeaux.
Two sisters; Avis Kristensen of Houston, Texas and Lola Belle DoLese of Lufkin, Texas, alone with 18 Grand children and 7 Great Grand children.
