---Miss Jane Prior of Dulcenia home, who has been ill for a number of months died about 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, aged seventy-eight years. Miss Proir[sic] had resided in this city for a great many years, and came from Elba, N. Y., the place of her birth to Calhoun county to teach school. She has resided here since.
---Her death was not unexpected as she had been in poor health for a long time and for the last few days had gradually failed. Announcement of the funeral will be made tomorrow.

Miss Jane Prior, who has been ill for some time at Dulcina Home, passed away this afternoon. Miss Prior was one of the oldest residents of Marshall and has been a resident of the home for about five years. She was a teacher in the public schools at one time. Bright's disease was the immediate cause of death. Deceased was 78 years of age. She was an aunt of Clifford Prior and Mrs. John I. Taylor of this city. The funeral will occur Saturday, but the hour is not yet decided upon.

The funeral of Miss Jane Prior occurred at Dulcenia home this morning. Many relatives and friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect to the dead. There were many beautiful flowers which were disposed about the casket. Rev. J. R. Mitchell, D. D. of the Presbyterian church, conducted the service which was simple but impressive. The remains were taken to Cook's Prairie for interment.

The funeral of Miss Jane Ann Prior occurred this morning at 10:30 o'clock at Dulcenia Home and was quite largely attended. Dr. J. R. Mitchell officiated and appropriate selections were sung by Mrs. L. E. Gallup and Miss Marie WInsor. The interment was made in the Cook's Prairie cemetery in Clarendon. Miss Prior was born January 17, 1828 at Elba, Genesee county, New York. When five years of age she came to Michigan with her parents, settling on Cook's Prairie. Was educated at Olivet college, commenced teaching at the age of sixteen which occupation she followed for many years, very successfully. Was a faithful, consistent member of the Presbyterian church of Marshall. November 6, 1901, she became a member of the Dulcenia Home family where she "fell asleep" Thursday October .
