Jan 21, 1938 - Humboldt Republican - Arch E Wilder, former Humboldt county boy, passed away at his home in Omaha Sunday morning Jan 16, after a longering illness. The remains were brought to Humboldt and interred in the Union cemetery.
Mr Wilder was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Ernie E Wilder. He was born in Rutland, Iowa in 1883 and attended local schools there. He graduated from the Humboldt schools and still later graduated from Cornell college. The Wilders later moved to Humboldt and opened a grocery store in a building now occupied by the DeGroote grocery store, that they conducted business for some time under the name of E.A. Wilder and Sons.
Later Mr Wilder took over and worked for an insurance firm in Fort Dodge and in a few years advanced to the managership of a territory. He remained in the insurance business until his death, when he was representing the Equitable Life Insurance co.
He was united in marriage at Correctionville, Iowa and two children were born to this union. Later his wife passed away and later again he was married and two more sons were born to him.
He is survived by his wife; and four children: 3 sons and a daughter; by his brother B.H.; and many other relatives and friends.
