Grandma Hunter was a precious little lady. She was barely 5 feet tall. I remember going to Grandma's house over on Yorktown in Tulsa. When you entered the front door, a huge golden oval frame, holding a rare photo of Grandma and Grandpa would look at you. It was there as if to greet you and welcome you into the living room. In the kitchen, where all the action was, Aunt Jemima was faithfully doing her job as a toaster cover, and the tin bacon grease keeper, sat at attention on the stove waiting for orders. The huge dinning room table was dressed with a lace tablecloth, just waiting for something to happen. Things were nice and neat at Grandma's I remember those precious crooked hands of a white haired lady and how she held those hands out for hugs. She would pat your knee when you sat next to her. I can still see those hands trying to butter a peice of toast. I wanted so bad to reasch over and help her. I knew not to try. She needed to do it herself. Grandma had a soft sweet voice that spoke loud and clear. I always said " Yes Mam, Thank you very much, and Please," not because I had to, but because I wanted to. She was that kind of Lady."
