Son of Frederick William and Alice Ruby Sherry, of Richmond, Victoria, Australia.



A Catalina "Flying Boat" FP 193 of 131 Operational Training Unit, was based at RAF Killydeas, near Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh.
It was on a training exercise which involved dive-bombing a moored target anchored at Boa Island on the northern side of Lough Erne. It crashed near Dreenan, killing 7 of the 11 crew members onboard.
