TAZEWELL, Va. — Christine Genevieve Davidson, age 71, of Tazewell, Va., died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
Born February 26, 1941 in Maxwell, Va., she was a lifelong resident of Tazewell, Va. and was the daughter of the late John Henry Davidson and Sadie Rose Howery Davidson. Before her failing health, she attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church at Maxwell. Ms. Davidson was a graduate of Radford University and was a retired elementary school teacher from Tazewell County Public Schools.
She is survived by her son, Michael Abel and former husband, Elmer Abel of Maxwell, Va.
The family will receive friends at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Graveside services will follow at the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, Va. with Pastor J.C. Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Hughie Long, Chris Calo, Elmer Abel, Steve Cline, and Walt Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are Eli Jones, Rodney Keenon, J.W. Robinette, and Pierce Davidson. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2 p.m. Wednesday.
