She was born Aug. 10, 1884, in the Town of Scott, Sheboygan County. The former Minnie Klug, Mrs. Backhaus was married to Anton L. Backhaus at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Scott on Nov. 23, 1905.
After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Town of Scott for many years, until their retirement when they moved to Kewaskum. Mrs. Backhaus was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Elmer Moldenhauer of Kewaskum; a granddaughter; a grandson; and one brother, Walter Klug of Kewaskum.
Her husband preceded her in death in October 1968.
