John H. Logsdon, 85, of 1704 Madison, died at 9:58 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 29, 2012) in Blessing Hospital's Emergency Room.
Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Chambersburg, John was a son of Cecil and Cecilia Boswell Logsdon. He married Bertha Hill on June 21, 1945, in Versailles. She survives.
John enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and most of all just tinkering.
Mr. Logsdon was employed at Quincy Soybean for 37 1/2 years, retiring as a foreman in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; four sons, Richard Logsdon, William Logsdon (Sharon K.), Larry Logsdon (Barbara) and James Logsdon, all of Quincy; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert William Logsdon (Mary) of Versailles.
Mr. Logsdon was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald G. Logsdon; two sisters, Irene Welsh and Millie Anderson; and two brothers, Edward and Richard Logsdon.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Disseler conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning until the time of services in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Fishing for Freedom.
