James Robert "Bob" Mizell, Age 64

and a resident of Franklinton born on August 19, 1948 died Sunday September 30, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Bob was an active member of the open door Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Franklinton. Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Bob was an all-state linebacker for the Bogalusa High School Lumberjacks. He served in the Navy and National Guard. Over his career as piping designer Bob made strong and lasting friendships where he worked in areas as varied as nuclear submarines and paper mills from Maine to Louisiana. Bob served as a Volunteer firefighter for district 2 and he was a member of American Legion post 113.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beth Sherman Mizell whom he met at the Washington Parish Free Fair 44 years ago where they became and will remain sweethearts.

Survived by his 2 children:

Daughter and son in law: Julie Mizell Stewart and Sean Stewart of Laurel, MS,

Son and daughter in law: Joshua Mizell and Madeleine Mizell of Laurel, MS.

4 grandchildren: Sophia Stewart, Wesley Stewart, Vivian Stewart and Ian Stewart.

His mother: Kathleen Mizell of Bogalusa, LA .

1 brother and sister in law: Ron Mizell and Sharon Mizell of Magnolia, MS.

2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Ellen Mizell Bailey and Leverette Bailey of Bogalusa. Kay Mizell Robins and Danny Robins of Franklinton, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvelee Mizell.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Plainview Baptist church with reverend Kyle Routzahn and reverend Paul Watts officiating. Visitation will begin at 1pm prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the cemetery at Plainview Baptist Church
