Ida Avanell Lawson, 69, Old Somerset, Stanford Road, Eubank,Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 26th, 2004 at her residence.

She was born June 16th, 1934 in the Acorn Community, a daughter of the late James Harris and Ada Whitis Harris. She was a retired Inspector for Union Carbide Company, Indianapolis, Indiana and a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church, Somerset, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband; Robert Lawson, whom she married on December 24th, 1953 in Somerset, Kentucky: four daughters; Cynthia Ann Beggan, Linda G. Lawson, Barbara Lynn Lawson and Lisa K. Lawson, all of Somerset, Kentucky: one brother; Joe Harris, Acorn Community: four sisters; Maxine Whitaker and Pauline Stogsdill, both of Somerset,Kentucky, Olive G. Harris, Indianapolis, Indiana and Devonna Burdine, Acorn Community: 13 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: 2 infant sons; Jeffrey & Gregory Lawson: 2 brothers; Charlie and Robert Harris: one sister;Donna Whitaker.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29th, 2004 at theChapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Rick Lawson and Brother Scott Nix officiating. Burial will be in Chaney Cemetery,Somerset, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m., Friday, May28th, 2004 and after 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 29th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Chaney Cemetery Fund.
