Coleman Wolcott Sims, Captain USN-Retired, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the age of 89 in Boerne. He was born on April 18, 1921, in Waxahachie, TX to Dr. William Pinkney Sims, Sr. and Almyra Louvenia Wolcott Sims. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 46 years, Josephine Johns Sims.
Coleman was a graduate of the US Naval Academy. He served during World War II. He proudly served our country for 33 years. Upon retirement, he became Mayor Pro-Tem of Boerne and served as an Alderman.
Capt. Sims is survived by his daughter Suzan Hudgens and her husband Steve of Ft. Worth, his son Phillip Johns Sims of Washington, D.C., and his brother William Pinkney Sims, Jr. of Issaquah, Washington. He was blessed with 3 grandchildren he adored; Adrienne, Andrew and his wife Emily, and Meredith.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 10:00 AM at the Boerne Cemetery. To leave condolences for the family, visit www.ebensberger-fisher.com and select the Obituaries tab.
