                        OBITUARY.

DIED—At his residence at Lower Canterbury, York County, New Brunswick, on Thursday the 17th inst., EDWARD W. HARTLEY, father of the proprietors of the TRIBUNE, aged 59 years and 29 days, leaving a wife, eight children, five grand children, an aged mother, brothers and sisters and a large circle of relatives and friends to morn their loss.
The deceased was born near the place of his death, on March 19th, 1820, was married on the 28th day of October, 1848, to Rebecca B. Whitehead, youngest sister of Major James Whitehead, well known in this state, and was the father of a family of twelve children, three daughters and nine sons, four of whom, two daughters and two sons, have gone before him. Always very devout, a strict disciplinarian and exact and exacting in all his dealings he lived an exemplary life, and has, we believe, gone to reap the reward of a "just man made perfect." (Brainerd Tribune, 26 April 1879, p. 1, c. 1)
