FIELD, Grace Elizabeth (Barry, Lee, Kabbes) 85, of Tampa, passed away Sept. 29, 2012. Elizabeth "Liz" was a native of Tampa, born in 1927. She was a graduate of Plant High School class of 1945. She married Leonard Lee in 1947 and had two sons, (deceased) Donald and Paul, and two surviving daughters, Peggy Lee-Tocco, of Akron, OH & Katrina Lee of Orlando. Elizabeth enjoyed a wonderful marriage with Robert Kabbes until his death. She later married William "Bill" S. Field, gaining a loving son and daughter, Bill Field "Jr", Debbie Field, both of Tampa. She is followed in life by 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor (Sarah), Angela Gable (Ben), Lee Gammon, Andrew Gammon, Sarah Elizabeth Gammon; and two great-grandchildren, Logan Gable and Jeremiah Taylor. She is also survived by her brother, David Barry; and sisters, Myrtle Solomon and Adelaide Brackman. Elizabeth worked at the Post Office for 15 years and made many lifelong friends. After retirement she had a home and church life in Franklin, NC, and Tampa. She was a Christian and longtime member of Idewild Baptist Church and a devoted member of South Tampa Fellowship. Throughout her life she lived and expressed her faith with ceaseless service to others through work with Habitat for Humanity, Macon County Program for Progress, Elder Buddy, Christian Women's Fellowship, Concerned Women of America, STF Seniors providing meals, rides to doctors, and prayer circles. Elizabeth will be remembered for her sense of humor, honesty, generous nature, friendly demeanor, discrete philanthropy and many, many kindnesses. A viewing will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 South MacDill at 12:30 on Monday, Oct. 1. A service will follow. The burial will be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Ave., after the service.
