funeral services of the former's sister, Sr. M. Johanna, at the convent at
Silver Lake, today.

Johannes and Catharina Ermert Blaeser/Bleser were from Wissen, Prussia and were the parents of Magdalena Blaeser/Bleser aka Sr. M. Johanna Bleser.

Note:
Johannes, his wife Catharina, and baby Engelbert died from Cholera and were buried at sea.

After fifty years continuous service as a teacher, Sister Johanna died
at Holy Family Convent Monday evening. She was 74 years old and had been
in poor health for several months.
Born on May 1, 1856 in Prussia, Germany, Sister Johanna came to America
at the age of eleven years. Both her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs.
John Bleser died on the journey across the ocean, leaving her and her
three brothers, Adam, William and Peter in the care of an uncle, Adam
Bleser. Entering the convent as soon as she came to this state,
immediately after her arrival in America. Sister Johanna had attained
for herself the record of the longest period of continuous teaching of
anyone at the convent. For a long time she taught in Lindsey, Nebr., and
later in schools at Oshkosh and Algoma. Funeral services were held from
Holy Family Convent Chapel this morning with burial in Holy Family
Convent Cemetery.
