Private funeral services were
held today for Anna Pearl White
Waldron, 98, of Dublin. Burial followed
in Northview Cemetery.'
A daughter of the late John
Thomas White and Anna Maria
Haynes White, she attended
Dublin schools and Brenau College.
As a member and historian of
the Dublin Garden Club, she had
written the history of the garden
club, which is in the reference section
of the Laurens County Library,
from its beginning to 1987
She worked to restore grounds of
the "old city cemetery," located behind
the First United Methodist
Church. She was an honorary
member of Federated Garden
Club. She served many years on
the Carnegie Library Board and
was an honorary member of Chi
Sigma Phi and Beta Sigma Phi
Sororities.
Mrs. Waldron was a charter
member of the Dublin Hemerocallis
Club and a hybridizer, having
registered a number of named varieties
She was a member of First
Baptist Church, served as chairman
of the Floral Committee and
arranged flowers grown in her own
garden for many years. She was
the widow of the late Howard
Chambless Waldren She died
Tuesday night.
