Gerda M. Goerler, 96, of Solvay and Greenpoint Independent Living, Liverpool, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 26. Born in Oldenburg, Germany on May 30, 1916. She retired from Solvay Bank after many years of service. She was predeceased by her husband, Max in 1994. Gerda is survived by three children, Alke (Phillip) Picciotti of Westvale, Dagmar (Beert) Polstra of Solvay, Raimund (Sharon) E. Goerler of Ohio; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mavis Spille and several nieces and nephews in Germany. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 501 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13203.
