Clarice is the youngest child of Clarence Knapp and Emma Amanda (McADAMS) SMITH he father died before she was born. Clarice spent most of her girlhood with her grandparents Jacob Wilson and Martha Frances (FIMPLE) McADAMS. Clarice married 26 May 1926 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado to George Milo FLIKKEMA son of Garrett and Lena (DEBAY) FLIKKEMA. She give birth to three children two died in infancy.

Clarice K. was the daughter of Clarence K. SMITH and Emma McADAMS SMITH. After her father's death, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado.
Clarice attended Central College in Pella, where she met George M. FLIKKEMA. After he completed his seminary work, the Rev. FLIKKEMA and Clarice were married on May 26, 1926. They served congregations of the Reformed Church in America in Martin, Michigan; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rochester, New York; and Long Island City, New York. After her husband passed away in 1963, Mrs. FLIKKEMA came to live in Orange City. She was employed at the library of Northwestern College for over five years.
Mrs. FLIKKEMA was a member of the American Reformed Church and church Guild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gerard Clarence, who died at birth, four sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include her son James, of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Arie (Leona) VANDER STOEP, of Orange City; and Mrs. Corene RYAN, of Howell, Michigan; and one brother, John PORTER, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
