Sister James Anthony Baksa, age 85, a resident of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, March 7, 2003 at the Convent.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass od Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
She was born Marie Baksa on October 31, 1917 in Milwaukee, WI. daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Peschman Baksa. Sister James Anthony earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc.
She entered the Convent in 1935 and professed her vows in 1938. Sister James Anthony served as an elementary teacher at St. Mary, Kaukauna, St. Mary, Bloomington, St. Therese, Appleton, St. Michael, Sherwood, St. Mary, Clarks Mills, St. John, Antigo, St. Mary, Algoma, St. Peter, Middleton, St. Agnes, Green Bay, St. Nicholas, Zanesville, OH., and St. Anne, Menominee, MI.
After retiring from the teaching profession, she performed various services at Holy Angels, Chicago, IL. and Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Survivors include Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc where a prayer service will be held at 7p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Crmation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting with funeral arrangements.
