Anna J. Ashley, 72, a long time Sibley resident who moved to Rockford eight years ago, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 at the Swedish American Hospital at Rockford.
Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Sibley. The Rev. Victor Ramsey officiated. Lamb's Funeral Home, Gibson City, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Ashley was the daughter of Nelson and Sophina Hillengreen Nelson. She was married to Harlan 0. Ashley, who died in 1949.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Lawless, 2814 Northway Dr., Apt. 304, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Felton and Mrs. Alice Parrish, both of St. Anne; and three grandchildren and one great-grand child.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son and one sister.
Mrs. Ashley was a member of the Sibley United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit.
