Glenn Brumm was the oldest son born to Leslie Thomas "Les" Brumm (1875-1941) and Mary Katherine (Jacoby) Brumm (1884-1924). His early life was spent in Burlington, Iowa, on the Mississippi River. In about 1937 he married Anna "Maxine" Myers. On January 4, 1943, he married Virginia Lea Allen in Clark County, Washington. Their son was Thomas Allen Brumm (1944-2006). At the end of World War II, in 1945, he settled in Oregon, where his wife was from, and where he remained except for a few years in California. He and Virginia divorced, and he remarried again to Alice Eva Lipman.
