Census records have Harvey Bridge's birth location as New York. While many researchers have Nathan Bridge and Nancy Morse as Harvey Bridge's parents, I have found no credible documentation to confirm this. According to Massachusetts birth/baptismal records, in 1811 and in 1813 three children of Nathan and Nancy Bridge were baptized (none named Harvey). Not only does this put the Nathan Bridge family in Massachusetts as late as 1813, there is also no evidence of a child named Harvey who would have been listed with the baptisms had he been a family member. Additionally, the book The Descendants of John Bridge which lists the children of Nathan and Nancy (Morse) Bridge has no child named Harvey. This is further confirmed in the 1820 census where the Nathan Bridge family has only two males under the age of 10.
