Obituary: "Mrs. Marjorie Smith Wright, age 95 of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Mrs. Wright was born Feb. 15, 1910 in Clay County, Al., the daughter of the late James David and Sarah Elizabeth Jefferson Parsons Smith. She had lived here most of her life and was a charter member of United Congregational Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 31 years. Mrs. Wright was retired from Mansours, was active in the PTA and was a Sacred Harp Singer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Laimon Shelnutt of Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Lesia Wright of Meritt Island, Fl., Chris and Jackie Wright of Marietta and Larry and Judy Wright of Carrollton; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. David E. Smith of Bryan Center, Mi.; and numerous nieces and nephews; many friends of LaGrange who'll miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell Wright; daughters, Shirley Bowen and Sandra Hood; two granddaughters, Kristi Pilgrim and Kelly McMillan.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Carmack officiating. Interment was in Hillview East Cemetery." www.legacy.com

Information not included in the above obit ... she LOVED genealogy! She and her daughter, Shirley had this great thing in common. She was married to Howell Bunyan Wright on January 2, 1932, in Lagrange, Troup Co. GA.
