His grave was moved from Tracy to Kingsbury Cemetery when the Kingsbuy Ordinace Plant was built. He was a section foreman for the B&O Railroad. He died of illness early. His son, Daniel, started work at the age of 16. everybody on the railroad knew he was under age but let him go to work to support the family. Bert gave Daniel his railroad watch and is still in procession of the family.
