Miriam Abby Rosenkrans Poole, 91, of Wytheville, died Wednesday November 2, 2005. Born in Oshkosh, Wis. March 4, 1914 daughter of the late Leon C. and Miriam Seman Rosenkrans and the wife of the late J.W. "Dub" Poole previous owners of J.W. Poole Trucking Inc. Mrs. Poole was a retired school teacher who taught in Smyth and Wythe County as a Home Economics Teacher. She graduated from Central High School in Washington, D.C., graduated from State Teachers College, currently James Madison University where she received her B.S. Degree, and VPI where she received her Masters Degree in Clothing Textiles and Related Arts. She was the member of several area clubs and organizations. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist church since 1945. Mrs. Pool recently received a very prestigious award from the United Methodist Church Women. Mrs. Poole was present to receive the Golden Heart Award for long commitment, dedication, and service to her church.

She is survived by many close friends and care givers. Funeral service will be in the St. Paul United Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Don Stansell and Rev. Ann Blair with the interment in the East End Cemetery. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
