Robert Adolph Manhart was born January 4, 1872 at Stewardson, Illinois. The son of John and Angeline Manhart, he resided near there until he came to Oklahoma Territory in 1901.
He was married to Essie McCabe on June 11, 1922 at Charleston, Illinois.
To this union five children were born. Surviving besides the wife are four children, Alice Cartwright, Odessa, Texas; Lillie Quinn, Oklahoma City, Eva Stuart, Oklahoma City and one son Bob of Durham, Oklahoma. Seven grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews and a great number of friends.
An infant daughter preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He had resided in Roger Mills County, until his passing October 8, 1965 at the age of 93 years 9 months and 3 days.
Funeral services were conducted at the Durham commmunity Building with Leland Burch officiating.
Committal was at the Fairview Cemetery. Relatives from a distance atttending the services, besides the children were Mr. and Mrs. James Bowman, a niece of Mr. Manharts from Denver, Colorado.
