MARY RUTH MASSENGILL REYNOLDS, 83, of Oak Ridge died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Hermitage Gardens Assisted Living Center in Clinton. Born July 9, 1918, in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Ben and Minnie Katherine Day Massengill. She was the widow of Irby "Dutch" Reynolds. Mrs. Reynolds had worked in the Anderson County school system as a substitute teacher. She was a member of South Clinton Baptist Church. Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her daughter, Pat Maniago and her husband, Virgil, of Jefferson City; her son, R.J. "Robby" Reynolds of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren, Deanna Essington of Knoxville, and Jamie Reynolds and Jody Reynolds, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and by four great-grandchildren, Chelsea Atkins, Erin Essington, Nina Essington and Meghan Essington. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a special friend, Everett Wood. The funeral will be at 7 tonight, Jan. 8, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Clark Brown officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
