Calvin M Jones

Calvin M Jones, 78, a lifelong resident of Spotsylvania County, died yesterday about 6 a.m. at his home near Parker.

A farmer and formerly a blacksmith as well, he was stricken with a hear attack last week and Tuesday suffered another attack. He was member of the Wilderness Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Mattie A Jones, of Spotsylvania County, and their ten children, Mrs. J.B. Trussell, of Union, Mississippi; Mrs. Ray Weyer, Mrs. Marvin Lee and Lee Jones, all of Parker; Eugene and Alvin Jones of Washington, Mrs. W.P. Lewis of Bethesda, Maryland; Mrs. Noel Burton, of Falmouth; Mrs. Ray Perry of Opelike, Alabama, and Mrs. Edward Butler, of Fredericksburg.

He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Alice Bennett of Sugar Grove, Pa., 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Wilderness Church Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Reverend Thomas Jackson, pastor. Burial will be in the cemetery at Wilderness Chapel. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home, at Locust Grove.
